ONE WEEK SAILING ITINERARY BETWEEN MAJORCA AND THE SOUTH COAST OF MENORCA

An itinerary for a sailing holiday between Mallorca and Menorca. With prevailing winds from the north we will choose to visit the southern side of the island of Menorca, to enjoy the best anchorages, the most beautiful beaches and the most characteristic villages.

PORT OF POLLENSA (MAJORCA) – CALA SON SAURA (MINORCA) – CASTING HOURS 7

We leave in the morning from the port of Pollensa on the island of Majorca, to head to the southern side of Menorca. The first stage of our journey takes us to Cala Son Sura, a white beach with Caribbean colors, immersed in a wild scenery of Mediterranean scrub.

Bangi, relax, an aperitif at sunset. We will spend our first night here, at anchor immersed in nature under a sea of stars.

CALA SON SAURA – CALA TURQUETA/CALA MACARELLETA – MAHON – 5 HOURS OF NAVIGATION

After waking up in this natural paradise we will move towards the renowned Cala Macarelleta or Cala Turqueta. They are small coves dug into the cliffs, which hide small beaches of very fine white sand and turquoise waters. Diving, snorkeling and SUP rides to explore the most inaccessible corners.

In the afternoon we will proceed to the port of Mahón, where we will spend the night. Mahón is the capital of the island of Menorca. A huge natural harbor inside a deep fjord. From the port, through the narrow streets, it is possible to reach the historic center, among colonial buildings, characteristic shops, bars and restaurants.

MAHON – PLAYA DE SON BOU/CALA MITJANA – CALA GALDANA – 5 HOURS OF NAVIGATION

We set sail from Mahón to head back to the southern side of the island of Menorca. We will have to move soon to find a place in the small coves that characterize this side of the island but don’t worry, we will have a wide choice. We can stop in a small cove like the magnificent Cala Mitjana, or in a long white beach like Playa de Son Bou.

In the afternoon we will move to Cala Galdana. Due to its fine sand, paradisiacal aspect and excellent protection from wind and waves, Cala Galdana is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Balearics. We will spend the night at anchor here, with the possibility of going down with the tender to the small tourist village for a walk or an aperitif.

CALA GALDANA – CALA CANYAMEL (MAJORCA) – 6 HOURS OF NAVIGATION

We leave in the morning from Cala Galdana to move towards the island of Mallorca. We will arrive in Cala Canyamel in the early afternoon. A well-protected cabin with a golden sandy beach, very beautiful and not too crowded even in high season.

A few swims and relaxation after sailing and for those who wish, you can go ashore to visit the characteristic Coves de Artà. Among the most important in Majorca (450 meters long), they are located in the cliffs of Cap Vermell, about 500 meters from the beach. Famous for being visited by Jules Verne, Victor Hugo or Alexandre Dumas among others. A visit not to be missed while a tasty dinner is prepared on board.

CALA CANYAMEL – CAPDEPERA – ALCUDIA – 4 HOURS OF NAVIGATION

In the morning, sailing towards the Gulf of Alcudia, about 4 hours away. We can stop for a swim break in one of the many coves in the Capdepera area, such as Cala Rajada or Cala Aguilla, and then leave for Port d’Alcudia< /strong>, where we will spend the night in port or at anchor, depending on the weather conditions and the crew’s preferences.

A few kilometers from Port d’Alcudia, on the promontory of the peninsula, is the city of Alcudia, hidden by massive medieval walls, with a network of narrow streets and alleys overlooked by small shops and restaurants. We will discover this suggestive historic center, between the charm of the Moorish influence and an authentic pirate island atmosphere.

ALCUDIA – CAP DE FORMENTOR – POLLENSA – 3 HOURS OF NAVIGATION

We have reached the last day of our itinerary. Before returning to the port of Pollensa we will stop in the beautiful Platja de Formentor for lunch and the last swims of the week.

In the evening we will move to the port of Pollensa where we will spend the night at anchor. We will enter the port for disembarkation the next morning.
