One-week sailing itinerary in Ionian Greece departing from Corfu and landing in Zakynthos
An itinerary on a sailing boat in the Ionian islands starting from the island of Corfu, and landing on the island of Zakynthos. Both reachable by direct flights from many international airports.
In one week we will visit the islands of Corfu, Paxos, Antipaxos, Lefkada, Itaka, Kefalonia and Zakynthos, following a route from North to South to take advantage of the favorable wind that regularly blows from the North in this region.
CORFU – PAXOS – 5 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
We start our itinerary from the island of Corfu with a beautiful morning sail to reach the wonderful island of Paxos at lunchtime.
We will anchor in the turquoise water of Cala Lakka, on the northern tip of the island in one of the most beautiful anchorages in Greece – although often overcrowded – it offers a pool of crystal clear water with a picturesque village in the background with glimpses memorable and excellent taverns.
PAXOS – ANTIPAXOS – 2 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
The following morning we will move early to find an anchorage in the smaller island of Antipaxos. A paradise of crystal clear water and small inlets adorned with cliffs and Mediterranean scrub. We will drop anchor in this paradise between the beaches of Mesovrika, Karavi, Kalamista.
For the night if the weather doesn’t allow us to stay, we have an excellent alternative to Two Rocks Bay, an anchorage that is not on an island but believe me it is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt in the area, located on the west coast of Greece.
ANTIPAXOS – LEFKADA – 6 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
A beautiful navigation awaits us, wind in the sails we descend from the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos dressing the channel of Lefkada. We will have to cross a mobile bridge to cross Lefkada from North to South.
After crossing the bridge, we will be able to choose whether to stop in the port of Lefkada for supplies, an aperitif, a dinner or an evening ashore, or continue to anchor a little further south in Tranquil Bay, a quiet anchorage, in name and in fact.
LEFKADA – ITAKA – 3 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
We leave the island of Lefkada to head towards white cliffs and turquoise waters in the legendary Itaka. Here we can anchor for a breathtaking swim in the beautiful cala Filiatro.
In the afternoon we will move in front of the village, in a very suggestive anchorage closed on all sides by hills, in a natural harbor surrounded by a picturesque village with narrow streets stalls and many excellent taverns.
ITAKA – KEFALONIA – ZANTE – 6 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
We set sail from Itaka to continue our navigation towards the South. After about 3 hours of navigation we will opt to stop in the small coves on the east coast, such as the beaches of Koutsoupia, Lazarus and Kako Lagadi. In a green and rocky setting with crystal clear water with emerald reflections.
In the afternoon we will continue south, to anchor among the exotic reefs of the island of Zakynthos, where we will spend the night at anchor.
ZANTE – NAVIGO BAY – PORTO ZANTE – 4 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
Last day of our itinerary but these islands still have time to surprise us with a final scenographic anchorage in front of the most photographed beach in Greece, Navagio Bay.
Last dives and last photos before moving to the port of Zakynthos where we will spend the night.
